Can I refrigerate Godiva chocolates?

Chocolate can be refrigerated for up to 2-3 months if you place them in two sealable plastic bags. When you are ready to enjoy them, they must be thawed at room temperature for about two hours. It's very important to remember that the chocolate must reach room temperature for the fillings and chocolate to be at their best.

What's the best way to store my Godiva chocolates at home?

Generally speaking, you should keep your chocolates in a cool, dry, odorless place where the temperature only reaches 18-21º C. You should maintain a consistent temperature so that your chocolate doesn't experience any "shock" from being hot then cold or vice versa. This can have an adverse reaction on the chocolate called "bloom."

How long will Godiva chocolates keep their fresh taste?

Godiva Chocolates will stay fresh tasting at room temperature for up to 2-3 weeks, as long as they are kept away from heat and humidity. Specifically, the temperature should not exceed 21 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity should remain below 60%. Avoid direct sunlight.


What are the most common allergies that those of us in the chocolate business must be aware of?

The most common allergies are to peanuts, tree nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, macadamias), milk, soy lecithin, and gluten. Although the evidence is slim, some people may be allergic to chocolate itself. People who should not eat Godiva Chocolates include: Anyone with a nut allergy since the nut oils transfer from mold to mold. Anyone who believes he or she is allergic to chocolate.

Can You Be Allergic To Chocolate?

Sure, it is possible to be allergic to chocolate, but true chocolate allergies are very rare. It's much more likely someone will be allergic to an ingredient in a chocolate product. Does chocolate cause increased cholesterol?

On the contrary, it has a beneficial effect on cholesterolemy. Indeed, after assimilation, cocoa produces 72% unsaturated fatty acids, which reduce cholesterol levels and clean the arteries. And it contains only 20% saturated fatty acids which have the opposite effect. The amount of cholesterol in dark chocolate is negligible. In milk chocolate, it varies from 15 to 18 mg per 100 g which is insignificant. But of course we are talking only of chocolate whose fat content is 100% cocoa butter, like Godiva chocolate.

Does chocolate cause indigestion?

The liver, contrary to popular opinion, is not involved in indigestion. It is a de-intoxication point for substances which damage the organism, notably venous fungus, alcohol and certain drugs.
When too many fatty foods are consumed it is in fact the stomach and the digestive tract which are affected. Chocolate is often blamed when it has been consumed at the end of an unbalanced meal. At Christmas and Easter, for example, indigestion is actually caused by increased fat intake (foie gras, sauces, cakes etc.).

Is chocolate rich in magnesium?

Yes and so chocolate is beneficial currently, at a time when our daily magnesium requirement, which we need for good neuro-muscular function, is barely covered by our food intake.

The best way is to let Godiva ship them for you. If you can't do that, remember that the important thing is to keep the chocolates cool and try to minimize temperature changes.

Are Godiva chocolates halal?

All Godiva products made in Belgium are halal certificated as indicated by the logo. This certification is done by an HFCE (Halal Food Council of Europe) auditor. In consequence, they do not contain alcohol, pork or pork derivatives.

Are Godiva chocolates Kosher?

This certification is done by the Orthodox Union after the visit and control of an accredited Rabbi. Currently, only a part of our products are kosher certificated, however, we are working to extend the kosher certification to all our products and assortment made in Belgium. Please find the list of our kosher products enclosed.

Do Godiva chocolates contain gluten?

No. Even though some chocolates are without gluten, we cannot guarantee that there is no cross-contamination on the production lines. Therefore we always have a “may contain gluten” statement on every packaging.

Are Godiva chocolates suitable for individuals with milk, nut or soy allergies?

The allergens present in Godiva chocolates produced in our plants are: nuts, gluten, soya and milk. The products manufactured by our Coman may contain other allergens such as eggs, sesame or peanuts.


How can I order two gifts to be delivered to a different address/ same address?

Can I add a personal message to my gift?

Yes. You can add a personal touch to all gifts. You will be able to select an occasion and add a personal gift message while you enter the address details of the recipient. Your personal gift message can be up to 1024 characters.

Is it possible to cancel the order?

Yes, it is possible to cancel your order, as long as the parcel has not been shipped yet. Please contact our Customer Service as soon as possible.

Is it possible to pay online and collect in a store?

Unfortunately it is not possible to order online and collect the chocolates in a store.

Will the gift you send look just like what I see on the website?

What you see is what you get. In the unlikely case one of the products is out of stock, we will attempt to contact you about substitutions and will upgrade your gift with a product of higher value

Is there any billing information, pricing or invoice included in the box?

No, we never include invoices with gifts. The biller will receive the invoice by e-mail once the package has been shipped.

I need to correct or check an order that I just placed.

You can review all order details and take action at your account center. Changes you can make at the account center: - Change the gift message (only if the gift has not been packed or shipped) - Edit your contact name, address and phone number If the system does not allow you to make any of these changes, please call or email the customer service team for further assistance.


What payment methods do you accept?

We offer a wide range of payment options including all major credit cards and many banking systems including VISA, MasterCard, American Express. The exact payment methods available is tailored to your billing country. Bancontact/Mister Cash is available for customers in Belgium. At your request, it is also possible to pay by wire transfer, please e-mail us for this option.

How do I get an invoice of my order?

When entering your billing information, check the box next to the question to receive an invoice by e-mail. Companies located in the European Union can enter a VAT number. Once your order is shipped, we will email an automated invoice. You can also access your invoices with ease in your Account Center.


When will my gift be delivered?

We offer delivery Monday to Friday during business hours throughout Europe. Saturday delivery is currently offered in Belgium and France. The earliest delivery date is indicated if you click on the (?) next to the shipping method.

Can I request a specific hour of delivery?

Unfortunately this is not possible. We cannot predict the specific hours, our courier delivers during office hours.

Will the driver call before delivery to arrange a time?

Unfortunately it is not customary in Europe for shipping companies to call the recipient before delivery. Use of mobile phones in the field is considered a hazard to the driver. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The phone number provided will be used by our staff or by the local depot of our delivery company to resolve any delivery issues that arose whenever possible.

Can you leave the gift at the door if no one is available?

As the majority of our deliveries are international deliveries, a signature is required for delivery. In case no one is present at the delivery address during delivery, our delivery company will leave a notice and the recipient should be able to arrange for a new delivery time. You can track this information directly in your Account Center.

What companies do you use to ship the gifts?

We use professional local and global shipping companies such as UPS, TNT, DPD, and ChronoPost. The volume of gifts we ship throughout Europe on a daily basis allows us to offer premium shipping services at a very low cost for the European market.

Are you able to ship chocolates during warm weather/summer?

Yes, we can ship chocolates during warm weather and to warm climates all year long. We select the appropriate packing material so the chocolates remain nicely with the temperature range of 10-25°C. When necessary we use Styrofoam packaging and frozen gel packs to ensure that your gift arrives in perfect condition. However, in extreme heat it's possible that only express shipping will be available on the website.
